What is ethical or sustainable fashion?
Have you ever heard of "fast fashion" and “slow fashion”? Well, the term “fast fashion” refers to clothing that is cheaply made and intended for short-term use. However, we at Förbli believe in the power of re-use over and over, even through generations. This is why we work with sustainable fashion and what’s called “slow fashion”
But what is sustainable fashion, “slow-fashion” and even ethical fashion?
In short you could say that it takes into account the full lifecycle of the product — where it’s designed, it’s sourcing and of course production process — how does it affect the environment, it’s worker and last but not least the consumers. As you may have figured out, it is complex.
We at Förbli can’t do everything but we can do something, and we are doing our best at doing something right now. For example, all of our collections are made of leftover fabrics that would have eventually gone to waste if we didn’t take care of it and give it new life.
Here we will list the most important issues to keep in mind:
- Water Usage
- Hazardous chemicals
- Short lifecyle
- Waste
- Agriculture
